How to Build a PVC Jungle Gym For Your Baby

Hi, this is Mara’s dad. While looking for examples of how others used PVC pipes to create the Walk Assist Parallel Bars we created for Mara, we stumbled upon this idea for a Jungle Gym from the @Domanmom. We modified it a bit and this was the configuration we used.

NOTE: Use 3⁄4” PVC pipe and fittings

Important: There are two different types of 3⁄4” PVC pipe. Important to use the one with the thicker walls (schedule 40). The one with the thinner walls is not sturdy enough.

To Buy:
Total Cost +/-$35 (not including PVC cutter)

  • Ratcheting PVC Cutter (@$13)
  • Three (3) 10’ 3⁄4” Schedule 40 PVC Pipes
  • Ten (10) “T” fitting (3/4”)
  • Four (4) “90 degree elbow” fittings (3/4”)
  • Six (6) “3 Way Elbow” fittings (3/4”)

Cut the two 10’ 3⁄4” PVC pipes into:

  • Fourteen (14) 1 foot pipe sections
  • Four (4) 7” pipe sections
  • Two (2) 8” pipe sections
  • Two (2) 2 foot pipe sections (front and back base pieces)
  • Two (2) 25” pipe sections (vertical supports for monkey bars)
